Kim + Randy: Engagement Shoot - Atlantic City, NJ

Wow! All I have to say is what an honor it was for me to shoot Kim and Randy's engagement photos. Randy is one of my closest friends, and when he asked me to photograph them I wanted to put out my best. Kim and Randy gave me theirs as well, and I hope these photos prove it.  BTW, these are all film photos.

Congrats again to Kim and Randy!  Had a great time with you guys!  Special thanks also to Arlene for being my assistant for the day.

More film photos from Napa Valley and Sonoma County

If you've noticed I've been posting less frequently. It's been pretty busy on my end.

As some of you know I've been debating whether or not to get a medium format film camera or a full frame digital one. I've been eyeing a used Mamiya 645 on the film side and the Nikon D800. Both have pros and cons, but I have to say I really enjoy film on so many different levels - like waiting to get prints and scans back to see how my photos turned out. Regardless if it's film or digital, I enjoy making photos that preserve a moment in time (pretty cheesy). For this post, here are some photos I made with my Yashica FX-3 Super 2000 film camera shot with Kodak Portra 400 and developed by Richard Photo Lab (had to see what all the buzz was about RPL - I'm a believer now). The photos below weren't post processed, cropped or leveled. I wanted to share with you all what results you can get with a 35mm film camera.

Photo locations include: Joseph Phelps Winery, Spottswoode Winery, Gott's Roadside, deLorimier Winery and downtown Healdsburg, CA.

Kimberly + Randy : Napa Valley Engagement Shoot

Congratulations to Kimberly and Randy on their engagement. A few weeks ago I had a chance to photograph this fun couple in wine country. I was out there for a reunion with some of my closest friends. With Kimberly and Randy newly engaged, we decided to do some quick photo shoots with the vines. Check out this stylish and hip couple below. Locations include Joseph Phelps Winery, Spottswoode Winery and Benovia Winery.

For all you film photogs out there most of the photos were made using what I call the trifecta process.  That includes shooting with Zeiss glass, Kodak Portra 400 film and scans done by Richard Photo Lab.
