Autumn's Baptism - Potomac, MD

Last weekend I had the honor of photographing my friends' daughter's baptism. The baptism was held at a beautiful church in Potomac, MD, followed by a reception with family and friends.  Here are some photos below which captured this special day.

New York City - Brooklyn Bridge & Time Square

Here are few photos I made from a quick trip to NYC to see family. These were shot with my Nikon D700 and a 35mm prime.

A boy and his dog | Brambleton, VA

With the cold weather its been awhile since I've last posted anything. This month has been busy with booking weddings and engagement shoots for this year. I'm really looking forward to working with some great couples. Also this winter I picked a Zeiss 35mm 2.0 lens. Zeiss lenses are 100% manual focus so I decided to test my manual focus skills at the dog park. Here are some samples below.

Family Time | Middleburg, VA

This is why I do what I do.

Spent this afternoon at Chrysalis Vineyard in Middleburg, VA, and had a picnic in winter!  Chrysalis is family friendly and has an area where the kids can run around while the parents enjoy some wine. We picked up some cheese at the Home Farm Store in Middleburg, then chilled at Chrysalis.

The photos below were made with my Nikon D700 using a 85mm prime lens.

2011 | Year in Review

I was on the fence about whether or not to do a "Year in Review" post - I mean really, who am I? After thinking about it and having friends telling me to keep posting, here it is. Since getting serious with my photography a year ago by taking classes and workshops, I've really opened up my eyes to the art form. I learned it's not about the type of camera you have...or even if you have a good eye. It's all about composition for me...and more. I experimented with film this year. Some folks may think it's a step back with film photography; however, it really helped me to move forward with learning how to manually make photos and how light reacts to film. Definitely check out Jonathan Canlas' "Film is Not Dead", if you're interested in getting into film. Don't get me wrong here, I still have lots to learn.

Anyway, before I keep rambling, below is a collection of photos I made throughout the year. Special thanks to all the awesome couples that I worked with and family, friends and fellow photogs (near and far) for their continued support.

Happy New Year!
